This is an easy review to write. The KHE Kpro flatland cranks are so
much like Primo powerbites that it hurts. Even the packaging is
similar. That's not a bad thing mind you. You may ask, "Well are
they just primo knockoffs?" And the answer would be, "No."
The chief advantage to the Kpros is that they come in the shorter,
flatland friendly lengths of 165mm and 152mm.
Oddly enough the cranks are threaded on both sides so theoretically
you could run them with a left side drive though I cant imagine why a
flatlander would.
KHE sells a Euro bottom bracket conversion kit for their cranks as
well but if you can't find theirs a Primo euro bb will do fine.
The rest is sort of obvious stuff-
Q: Are they Heavy?
A: Not realy.
Q: Are they light?
A: Not really.
Q: Are they strong?
A: Yes- so far (12 months)
Q: Do they look good?
A: You tell me.
Q: How do they ride?
A: Like 165 mm cranks.
Q: Did you have any mechanical problems?
A: Nope.
Sorry for the lack of depth in the review- aside from
strength/weight/length there's not much to talk about when it comes to
cranks. These do the job just fine and that's about it.
It boils down to this:
"In a world of cranks, KHE makes some too." There's
nothing superior about the KHE's that would compel me switch from a
similar setup to theirs but if you're in the market for an aluminum
flatland crank the KHE's are a solid choice.
