G-Sport BMX has been making hubs and various bits for quite some time
now. The Homer hub is their principal offering, falling just beneath the
insane "vandal" hub (which needs its own special spokes) and the
Lightweight Monkey and the Marmoset front hubs. All hubs but the marmoset
are 48 hole, all share a common and very elegant design.
I personally think that the Homer hubs kick major butt. These things are a
dream to roll on, require nearly zero maintenance, and I am convinced that
it is impossible to destroy one of these things.
I got these from empire BMX in Austin, flatland fuel has the monkey hub. A
mail from Mr. G-Sport himself informed me that the marmoset should be out
in short order through both FLF and Empire.
If you are a serious street rider or dirt jumper, the Homer is for you. If
you are a serious flatlander, the monkey or marmoset are for you. Period.
These are the best hubs of their kind anywhere. For the record I use a
14mm 88 hub on my flatland bike, which is as smooth as the homer, but looks
way weaker than the homer. I don't anticipate doing nosepicks on my
flatland bike any time soon, though.
